How did I get into mediation?
Who hasn’t experienced conflicts in the family and private environment that can lead to a situation where emotionless, problem-solving communication is no longer possible.
The support of a mediator, who represents the interests of both parties and helps them to start talking to each other again, is often the key to finding solution scenarios that are beneficial for everyone involved.
I have learnt the importance of early and professional resolution of conflicts between people during my many years as an HR specialist in a corporate group and in various HR consulting companies. In my private life, I have also been able to expand my experience in dealing with conflicts through my work in schools and associations.
For me, successful conflict resolution is the goal of sustainable positive change. My motivation as a certified mediator is to eliminate stress for people and teams in organisations with a mutually developed conflict resolution, to increase their contentment and performance and thus to permanently improve their relationship with each other.
What characterises myself as a mediator?
I am guided by tolerance and curiosity.
I approach the different perspectives of those involved in my mediation work openly and at eye level. I create an atmosphere of trust and balanced dialogue as a framework for successful mediation.
I find it enriching to work with the parties involved to identify their feelings and underlying interests in order to develop options for dealing with the conflict in the future.
I am a certified mediator (ikm – Institut für konstruktive Konfliktaustragung und Mediation in Hamburg) and mediate conflicts in German and English.
My focus areas in Mediation
As a certified mediator, I mediate conflicts in professional and private settings.
Another focus of my consulting services is conflict moderation for groups, e.g. in organisations, associations or in a school environment.
I also offer individual counselling for personal conflicts.
Once a week, I do voluntary work as a school mediator at a primary school in Hamburg to support children in finding constructive and non-violent ways to resolve their conflicts.
What do I do when I'm not doing mediation?
As a consultant and facilitator, I support companies in agile organizational and team development. I work as a co-trainer on the topic of conflict.
I am currently expanding my knowledge as a coach as part of a professional development program.
Due to my passion for literature, I also work in a publishing house.
I have a great interest in foreign countries and cultures, which I enjoy travelling to. In terms of sport, I am regularly drawn to the tennis court or skiing and hiking in the mountains.
I have two grown-up children and live with my husband in Hamburg.
